About Me

Hello! I’m an award-winning educator with over 10 years’ experience in adult education, curriculum development, teaching and training, instructional design, project management, writing and editing, and public speaking. I have a Ph.D. in Linguistics and currently work as Senior Lecturer in the CAS Writing Program at Boston University, where I design and teach courses on academic writing and professional communication for international and multilingual students.

Over the last decade, I have designed and taught over 70 face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses in writing, oral communication, linguistics, pedagogy, and research methods. I have also taught numerous beginner and advanced courses in English to second language learners in the U.S. and China, as well as mentored, supervised, and evaluated dozens of student-teachers and educators to improve their teaching performance and align their instruction with curricular and program goals and standards. Additionally, I have experience in designing instructional materials and training tools, such as self-paced web-based learning modules, for traditional, hybrid, and online courses. I am proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Google Workspace, Adobe Photoshop and Rush, Zoom, Vyond, Slack, WordPress, and I have experience with learning management systems, like Blackboard Learning and Google Classroom.

In all my roles, I draw on my linguistics training and knowledge of different languages and cultures. I am proficient in 3 languages (English, Polish, French), have basic conversational and reading skills in at least 2 others (Spanish, American Sign Language), and I have lived, worked, and studied in 4 countries (U.S., Poland, France, China). I also have extensive experience in public speaking: I have planned and given hundreds of face-to-face and online talks, lessons, trainings, and workshops. Additionally, I co-edited a book in French and authored numerous newsletter pieces, grant applications, lesson plans, as well as published 9 texts, including peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. I have deep knowledge of APA, MLA, and Chicago citation styles, and I understand how to effectively implement feedback as well as give thoughtful, constructive comments on other people’ writing.

Finally, I have extensive experience working in team settings, supervising others, delegating, and managing complex projects. I am an excellent team player who works well under pressure and is eager to contribute to an organization’s vision and success. I consistently receive high evaluations from my colleagues, supervisors, as well as from learners, and I have been recognized for my contributions to teaching and teacher training. Among the distinctions I have received is the prestigious Award for Distinction in First Year Undergraduate Education from Boston University and the Roslindale Adult Literacy Community Planning Certificate of Recognition from Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) for my contributions to teaching and teacher training in Boston.
