About Me

Hello! I’m a linguist, teacher, and scholar, and I welcome you to my website.

I received a B.A. in Psychology and French from Centenary College of Louisiana, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics from Purdue University. I’m currently working as ESL Writing Lecturer at Boston University, where I teach courses in composition for international students.

My main research focuses on the applications of World Englishes for composition and for empowering  non-native English-speaking teachers, the attitudes toward English in Poland, and the teaching of English and EFL written assessment in Poland. I have also examined the role of English in Polish hip hop and explored the linguistic innovations and language play in Internet memes.

Besides my academic interests, I am also an avid baker, runner, and cat mom.
